Patna, June 5 — The Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has approved 20 new industrial projects, a move that is expected to generate over 2,300 direct and indirect employment opportunities across the state. The approvals were granted during a high-level meeting chaired by BIADA’s vice-chairman, Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, on June 4. These projects span multiple sectors, including manufacturing, food processing, and textiles, and are projected to attract investments totaling approximately ₹500 crore.
Among the approved ventures is a large-scale food processing unit in Muzaffarpur, which alone is anticipated to employ around 450 workers. Another significant project involves a textile manufacturing facility in Darbhanga, expected to create 300 jobs. The state government has emphasized that these projects align with Bihar’s industrial growth strategy, particularly in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, where employment opportunities are often scarce.
