NEW DELHI: The Indian Army on Friday issued a strong rebuttal to a widely circulated video that appeared to show a press conference at the Press Club of India, labeling it as “fake and misleading.” The viral clip, which featured Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha, was part of what the Army described as a “malicious propaganda campaign” aimed at tarnishing the image of the force and pushing fabricated narratives.
In an official statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the Army clarified the identities and statuses of the four individuals seen in the video. It stated that three of the men—Chandu Chavan, Harendra Yadav, and P Narender—had already been dismissed from service due to indiscipline and unsoldierly conduct. The fourth individual, Shankar Singh Gujjar, has been identified as a deserter, and formal disciplinary proceedings are currently underway against him in both military and civil courts.
