In a significant development, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay convened an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss the Mekedatu Dam project proposed by Karnataka, which has sparked fresh tensions over the Cauvery River water-sharing issue. The meeting, attended by Cauvery water and legal experts, aimed to uphold the state's rights and safeguard the welfare of farmers. According to a press note from the Tamil Nadu government, CM Vijay advised taking immediate follow-up legal measures to address the issue.
