New Delhi, June 12 — Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday announced the launch of an innovative ethanol-based cooking stove designed to offer a more affordable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional LPG cylinders. Speaking at a press conference in the national capital, Gadkari emphasized that the new technology not only reduces household cooking costs but also supports India’s push for energy independence and lower carbon emissions.
The minister, known for advocating ethanol adoption in transportation and energy sectors, highlighted that the stove operates on ethanol fuel, which is significantly cheaper than subsidized LPG and does not produce harmful emissions like carbon monoxide or particulate matter. “This stove costs less than a commercial LPG cylinder, emits zero smoke, and is entirely Made in India,” Gadkari said. He added that the technology aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat) and a cleaner environment.
