In a bid to ensure equitable distribution of drinking water to all areas in Nagapattinam district during the scorching summer season, Collector P. Akash has issued a stern warning to the public against using electric motors to draw water illegally from combined drinking water pipelines maintained by the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage (TWAD) Board. The district administration has been taking measures to ensure that every village panchayat in the district receives its fair share of drinking water, but complaints have been pouring in regarding unauthorized water connections and the misuse of electric motors to extract water from pipelines supplying combined drinking water schemes operated by the TWAD Board, as well as local panchayat water sources.
