New Delhi, June 12 — A man injured in a shooting incident in Delhi’s Amar Colony area on June 9 succumbed to his injuries today, hospital authorities confirmed. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Rajesh Kumar, had been undergoing treatment at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital since the attack. Doctors stated that despite medical intervention, his condition deteriorated over the past few days due to severe gunshot wounds.
The incident took place around 10:30 pm on June 9 near a local market in Amar Colony, South Delhi. According to eyewitnesses, two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle opened fire, injuring Kumar and another person, 28-year-old Amit Sharma, who is currently in stable condition. Police have registered a case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating the motive behind the attack.
Kumar was rushed to LNJP Hospital where he underwent multiple surgeries. However, he developed complications due to blood loss and organ damage, and passed away this morning. His family has arrived at the hospital and is in shock over the tragic turn of events.
