In a significant step towards promoting electric mobility, the Indian Railways has announced plans to install electric vehicle (e-vehicle) charging points at five major railway stations across the country. The move is aimed at encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly transportation and reducing the carbon footprint of the transportation sector.
According to sources, the five railway stations that will have e-vehicle charging points are New Delhi, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram. These stations are among the busiest in the country and witness a large number of passengers and vehicles. The installation of e-vehicle charging points at these stations will not only make it easier for commuters to charge their vehicles but also promote the use of electric vehicles.
