The festival, which is one of the most anticipated religious events in the region, is set to commence with the ‘aatril kambam vidum’ ritual scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Collector Muthukumaran was joined by Superintendent of Police D.N. Harikiran and senior district and police officials to assess the readiness of infrastructure, security, and public amenities ahead of the large-scale gathering.
During the review, Collector Muthukumaran emphasized the importance of meticulous planning to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees. He directed officials to complete all arrangements well in advance to avoid last-minute bottlenecks. Thousands of devotees are expected to participate in the ‘aatril kambam vidum’ event, a key highlight of the Vaikasi festival, where an idol is carried in procession to the riverbed. To accommodate this influx, the administration has planned extensive logistical support.
