Five prominent Indian companies—Lenskart, Groww, Tata Capital, ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company (AMC), and LG India—have been included in the latest quarterly review of the FTSE Emerging Markets Index, effective June 24, 2024. This inclusion reflects growing investor confidence in India’s expanding consumer and financial sectors and marks a strategic expansion of the index’s exposure to the country’s dynamic economy.
Lenskart, India’s leading omnichannel eyewear retailer, joins the index following its rapid expansion across Tier II and III cities and strong digital adoption. Fintech unicorn Groww, known for its user-friendly investment platform, also makes its debut, highlighting the rising prominence of digital financial services in emerging markets.
