Bhagalpur Police have successfully busted an illegal drug trade operation in the city, seizing substantial quantities of narcotics and apprehending one suspect. The operation, conducted late on Wednesday night, targeted a suspected drug peddling network operating in the region. According to sources, the arrested individual, identified as Rakesh Kumar (32), was found in possession of over 5 kilograms of various illegal substances, including ganja, charas, and synthetic drugs.
The raid was carried out following a tip-off received by the local police, prompting an immediate investigation. Acting on the intelligence, a team from the Bhagalpur Sadar Police Station, led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajiv Ranjan, conducted a surprise raid at a rented house in the densely populated Kutchery Road area. Upon entering the premises, officers discovered large quantities of drugs hidden in concealed compartments, along with packaging materials and digital scales commonly used in drug distribution.
