Comedian and creator Samay Raina has officially confirmed that production is underway for *India’s Got Latent* Season 2, ending weeks of speculation and fan anticipation. In a post shared on Instagram on May 28, 2026, Raina posted a behind-the-scenes image from the set, where he is seen holding a microphone while comedian Balraj Ghai stands behind him. The faces of other panel members were intentionally blurred to maintain secrecy. Accompanying the image, Raina wrote in Hindi, *“Uski bhi shooting chal rahi hai dostoooo”* (That’s being shot too, friends).
This confirmation comes after months of online buzz and fan inquiries about the show’s revival. Earlier in the day, Raina had teased the return of the show by announcing the revival of his chess-based talent show, *India’s Got Latent*, for longtime fans. He shared a screenshot of his Instagram Story in which he wrote, “Organising my favourite chess tournament for old times’ sake! I still love you chat,” and revealed a list of players including Anirban Dasgupta, Vaibhav Sethia, Joel Dsouza, Tracy Alison, Prakhar Gupta, Vivek Desai, and Balraj Ghai.
The resurgence of the show follows a major controversy in 2025, when remarks made by guest podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia during a live episode sparked widespread outrage. During the episode, Allahbadia asked a contestant an explicit question involving their parents, which led to severe backlash, multiple FIRs, police investigations, and intense public criticism. In response, Samay Raina was forced to delete all episodes of the subscriber-only show. The controversy reignited national debates around freedom of speech, obscenity in comedy, and accountability of digital content creators.
Following the backlash, Raina took a break from public appearances before making a comeback in 2026 with his stand-up special *Still Alive*, where he openly discussed the emotional trauma and mental struggles he and his family endured during the controversy. He later appeared on *The Great Indian Kapil Show* to further address the fallout.
The confirmation of Season 2’s production was further fueled by earlier viral images allegedly showing actresses Alia Bhatt and Sharvari seated on the panel alongside Balraj Singh Ghai and Aashish Solanki. While the image sparked speculation about their potential guest appearances, neither the actors nor the show’s makers have issued any official confirmation regarding their involvement.
Adding to the growing buzz, a recent vlog by YouTuber AARY revealed that his fiancée Yogita’s mother had once been invited to appear on *India’s Got Latent* but could not attend due to travel plans to Goa. Yogita stated, “Did you know Aunty had received a call to appear on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent, but she couldn’t go because we were in Goa? If she had gone, we would have sat in the audience. However, whenever she is called next, we will all go.”
Despite the controversy and public scrutiny, Raina has proceeded with the revival, signaling his intent to move forward with the show. While no official premiere date has been announced, the latest behind-the-scenes update confirms that production is in active progress, with Raina and his team working behind closed doors to shape the upcoming season.
