Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre inaugurated a Smruti Vana in Neelavara, Udupi district, on Monday, in memory of late Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Udupi Pejawar Mutt. The Smruti Vana is a tribute to the late seer who passed away in 2019. Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Khandre praised the late seer, saying he was an epitome of progressive thinking and had won the hearts of many people across the country. He recalled that the late seer had contributed significantly to environment conservation and had even convinced Maoists to follow the path of peace and return to the mainstream.
