Top Indian firms add ₹74,000 crore in market value; Reliance, TCS lead gains amid volatile week

Mumbai, June 2024 – The combined market valuation of six of India’s top ten most-valued companies surged by ₹74,111.57 crore last week, with Reliance Industries leading the gains. The rally unfolded during a highly volatile trading period in which the BSE Sensex advanced by 177.36 points, or 0.23%, closing the week with modest gains.
Reliance Industries topped the gains, adding ₹24,696.89 crore to its market capitalisation, which now stands at ₹18,33,117.70 crore. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) followed with a valuation increase of ₹19,338.68 crore, pushing its total market cap to ₹8,38,401.33 crore. ICICI Bank also saw a significant rise, gaining ₹14,515.93 crore to reach a market valuation of ₹9,06,901.32 crore. The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) saw its market cap climb by ₹9,076.37 crore to ₹5,14,443.69 crore. Bajaj Finance added ₹3,797.83 crore, taking its valuation to ₹5,70,515.57 crore, while Larsen & Toubro saw an increase of ₹2,685.87 crore, bringing its total market cap to ₹5,40,228.21 crore.
