VMJ School, a renowned ICSE institution in Thoothukudi, recently marked its 50th anniversary with a grand alumni reunion that brought together over 320 former students and 75 current and former staff members. The event, held to celebrate five decades of academic excellence, allowed alumni to revisit their alma mater and relive cherished memories from their school days. The reunion concluded with interactive icebreaker sessions, fostering a sense of nostalgia and camaraderie among the attendees.
The celebrations were not limited to the reunion alone. Earlier in the day, VMJ School was connected to an international academic event—a webinar themed “Developments in Applications of Geometry in Engineering Strategies in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” The webinar was jointly organized by Wadi Alshatti University (Libya), Kamaraj College (Thoothukudi), and CEOA College of Arts and Science (Madurai). This academic collaboration underscored the growing global engagement of educational institutions in Tamil Nadu with international partners.
A significant highlight of the webinar was the introduction of a new mathematical concept named “Tamil Line: Line of Four Concurrencies.” The discovery was explained by M. Raja Climax, founder chairman of the CEOA Group of Educational Institutions. His presentation introduced a novel geometrical framework that promises to contribute to advanced engineering applications, particularly in the context of artificial intelligence. The inclusion of this concept reflects the evolving role of geometry in modern technological solutions.
Guzlon Miskeen, Director of the International Cooperation Office at Wadi Alshatti University, was present at the webinar, representing the Libyan academic partner. His participation highlighted the international dimension of the event and the shared commitment to advancing mathematical and engineering sciences across borders. Additionally, N. Panchanatham, Vice-Chancellor of Gandhigram University, felicitated the initiative, recognizing the importance of such interdisciplinary breakthroughs in education and research.
The reunion and webinar together symbolized VMJ School’s enduring legacy and its ongoing contribution to fostering both local and global academic communities. The event not only celebrated the past five decades of educational service but also looked forward to future innovations in learning and knowledge creation.
The alumni reunion, in particular, served as a bridge between generations of students, reinforcing the school’s values and traditions while embracing modern advancements in education. The lively interactions and shared experiences during the event underscored the strong bonds formed at VMJ School, which continue to resonate decades later.
As VMJ School continues to grow, such initiatives reflect its commitment to nurturing both tradition and innovation in education.
