Bengaluru, Karnataka – A 21-year-old man has been arrested by the Bengaluru Police for allegedly raping a teenage girl on multiple occasions. The accused, identified as Rakesh Kumar (name changed for privacy), was apprehended on Wednesday after the victim lodged a complaint with the local police station.
According to the police, the incidents occurred over a period of six months, during which the accused reportedly exploited the victim, who is a minor. The police stated that the accused had been in a relationship with the victim before the alleged crimes took place. The victim’s family discovered the ongoing abuse and immediately reported the matter to the authorities.
The police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
