Hyderabad, May 24, 2026: Telangana Fisheries Corporation Chairman Mettu Sai Kumar publicly rebuked Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA and former Minister T. Harish Rao on Sunday, accusing him of attempting to derail the state government’s ambitious ‘Future City’ project. Speaking at a press conference held at Gandhi Bhavan, Sai Kumar launched a scathing attack on Harish Rao, labeling his comments as “irresponsible” and warning him to refrain from making such statements.
Sai Kumar asserted that neither Harish Rao nor the BRS leadership possessed the “capacity or authority” to halt the ‘Future City’ initiative, which he described as a transformative vision aimed at shaping the aspirations of Telangana’s youth. He emphasized that the project symbolizes a new phase of development for the state, drawing a parallel with past initiatives like ‘Cyber City’ that had driven Hyderabad’s earlier growth. “Just as ‘Cyber City’ played a pivotal role in the city’s transformation, the ‘Future City’ project is our commitment to taking forward new initiatives for the youth of Telangana,” he stated.
