Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – A routine flight for Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak took an unexpected turn on Monday afternoon when the Beechcraft King Air B200 aircraft he was boarding developed a technical snag while taxiing on the runway at Moradabad airport. The incident, which occurred around 4:15 PM, led to the pilot aborting the takeoff as a precautionary measure, ensuring the safety of all on board.
Pathak had boarded the seven-seater aircraft, bearing the tail registration VT-UPR, at Moradabad airport following his attendance at the BJP’s divisional training programme. The aircraft was scheduled to depart for Lucknow. According to sources, Pathak remained in Moradabad until evening while district administration officials arranged for his return to Lucknow via road transport. Speaking to *The Times of India* later, Pathak confirmed the incident, stating, “While rolling on the runway, the pilot detected some technical issue with the aircraft, following which he aborted the take off.” He further mentioned that while deboarding after the snag was detected, he noticed smoke emanating from a section of the aircraft.
