Belagavi district is set to witness significant infrastructure development as the Zilla Panchayat gears up to construct 481.14 kilometres of rural roads across all 18 Assembly constituencies in the district. The ambitious project, valued at ₹350 crore, is part of the State government’s broader Pragatipath scheme aimed at enhancing rural connectivity and road quality across Karnataka. According to Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi, the scheme, backed by a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), will develop a total of 7,110 kilometres of rural roads across the state at an estimated cost of ₹5,190 crore.
