Mumbai, May 25, 2026: Television actor Shoaib Ibrahim has shared a detailed health update on his father, revealing that he suffered a brain haemorrhage rather than a stroke, as previously reported. Speaking in a recent YouTube vlog, Shoaib described the gravity of his father’s condition, including speech impairment and partial paralysis on the right side of the body. The 65-year-old had previously experienced a blood clot-related stroke, which had left him temporarily paralyzed on the left side but had recovered quickly. This time, however, the haemorrhage caused significant internal bleeding and swelling in the brain, leading to severe complications.
In the emotional video, Shoaib explained that his father, who had been admitted to the ICU, was not responding due to the bleeding and drowsiness caused by the haemorrhage. He mentioned that the patient’s blood pressure had initially spiked to over 180 when admitted, but was now under control. Doctors are planning a surgical procedure to relieve pressure by creating a hole in the skull and removing blood clots. The procedure will be delayed for 3-4 days because the patient had been taking blood thinners, which need to be managed carefully to prevent further bleeding. Shoaib also shared that his father’s vision on the right side had been affected, and the family was closely monitoring the situation, awaiting further developments.
Shoaib expressed the emotional toll the situation was taking on the family, stating that seeing his father unresponsive was extremely difficult. He revealed that he had not allowed his mother to visit the ICU, as he did not want her to witness the distressing state. His wife, actress Dipika Kakar, had visited once, accompanied by their daughter. Shoaib recalled that the health deterioration began on Saturday morning when his father woke up unable to speak clearly. Earlier that night, the family had watched an IPL match and a new film together, before the sudden incident occurred.
In addition to the update on his father’s health, Shoaib also shared an update on Dipika Kakar’s medical condition. Dipika, who is undergoing treatment for liver cancer diagnosed last year, recently underwent a PET scan following the discovery of new cysts. Shoaib mentioned that Dipika had two new lesions, and doctors had advised waiting for a month before considering surgery. Earlier scans had shown abnormalities, and a PET scan was conducted to assess the current status of the cysts, which are reportedly very small and not visible on CT scans. The couple had previously managed two cysts through surgery in March, but new tiny cysts were detected in April, prompting frequent monitoring through MRI and other scans.
Shoaib appealed to followers who had performed Hajj to pray for both his father and Dipika during their pilgrimage. He assured fans that he would continue to provide regular updates on their health conditions. The actor’s transparency about their medical struggles has drawn widespread support from fans and well-wishers.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, has faced multiple health challenges over the past year, including Dipika’s cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatments. Despite the difficulties, they have maintained a public presence, sharing updates and expressing gratitude for the support they continue to receive.
