Mumbai Police have arrested three individuals for allegedly cheating a pawn brokerage firm agent in a financial fraud case. According to sources, the incident came to light after the agent reported suspicious transactions linked to a recent loan disbursement.
The accused were identified as Ravi Sharma (32), Rohit Verma (28), and Priya Kapoor (30), all residents of Mumbai. Police sources stated that the trio had allegedly posed as representatives of a legitimate financial firm and convinced the agent to disburse a loan of ₹15 lakh under false pretenses. The agent, who works with a well-known pawn brokerage firm in South Mumbai, claimed that he was contacted by individuals claiming to facilitate quick loans for small businesses. After verifying their credentials, which later turned out to be forged, the agent released the funds.
