The arrests were made following surprise checks conducted by local police teams, which uncovered fraudulent practices in the distribution of lottery tickets from other states.
In Seithur, police apprehended Dinesh after discovering that he was selling lottery tickets from other states by manipulating the last three digits of the ticket numbers. According to police reports, Dinesh would exchange pieces of paper containing altered digits with customers to facilitate the sale of these banned tickets. This method was reportedly used to mislead buyers regarding the authenticity and origin of the tickets.
