A private school bus carrying at least 25 children overturned on a busy road in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday morning, injuring ten students. The incident occurred around 9:30 am near the Kanker Khera crossing on the Meerut-Saharanpur highway. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver lost control of the bus while negotiating a sharp curve, causing it to topple onto its side. Local residents and passersby rushed to the spot and pulled out the children from the wreckage before emergency services arrived.
According to Dr. Arvind Kumar, medical superintendent at the local district hospital, nine of the injured children were rushed to the Meerut District Hospital with minor injuries, including bruises and sprains. One child, identified as 10-year-old Rohit Sharma, sustained a head injury and was immediately shifted to the ICU at LLRM Medical College in Meerut for further treatment. All injured children are reportedly stable, and no fatalities were reported in the accident.
