Muzaffarpur, Bihar: The mastermind behind a ₹2 crore robbery in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur has been arrested from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, after a high-stakes investigation. The accused, identified as 32-year-old Faisal Khan, was picked up by a joint team of the Madhya Pradesh Police and Bihar Police from his residence in Ward No. 14, Muzaffarpur, late on Wednesday night.
According to officials, the robbery occurred on the night of June 10, 2024, when a cash van belonging to a private logistics company was intercepted near the Jabalpur-Dumna Airport road. The robbers, armed with sharp weapons and country-made pistols, overpowered the security personnel and made off with ₹2 crore in cash meant for various banks across the state. The incident sent shockwaves through the region, prompting a statewide alert and a massive manhunt.
During interrogation, Faisal Khan reportedly confessed to his role as the mastermind and disclosed that the operation was directed by an individual named ‘Khalid,’ who is believed to be operating from outside India. Khan stated that Khalid had promised him a substantial share of the loot in exchange for executing the plan. Police sources revealed that Khalid had allegedly provided the weapons, logistics, and strategy for the robbery, while Faisal coordinated with a local gang in Jabalpur to execute the operation.
