A tragic incident unfolded in a family in Lucknow when a 26-year-old woman took her own life by hanging herself at her home. The incident occurred six months after her marriage. According to family sources, the woman was continuously subjected to dowry harassment by her husband and in-laws. The police have also confirmed the incident and initiated an investigation into the matter.
The woman’s name was Rita Devi, and she resided in the Hazratganj area of Lucknow. After her marriage, her husband’s name was Anil Sharma, and they both lived in Lucknow. Family members revealed that Rita Devi was repeatedly pressured to give dowry. Her in-laws demanded money and jewelry from her parents. When Rita was unable to meet these demands, her husband and in-laws began mistreating her.
Before this incident, Rita Devi had called her parents to complain about the harassment. Her parents advised her to stay at home and handle the situation. Unfortunately, six months later, Rita took her own life. The police have registered a case in this matter and have begun questioning her husband and in-laws.
