Bhagalpur, Bihar – To clamp down on illegal mining, the Bihar government’s Mining Department launched a major drive on Monday. During the operation, a team from the department seized a truck worth approximately ₹6 lakh from a location in Bhagalpur district. Additionally, the truck owner was slapped with a fine of ₹11 lakh. According to sources, the truck owner pleaded for mercy by folding his hands before the department officials, but no leniency was shown.
Local authorities stated that this action is part of a campaign underway in the state against illegal mining. Recently, the Bihar government has adopted a strict stance against illegal mining and transportation. Under the ongoing drive by the department, several trucks and machines have already been seized.
