The ambitious 3.2-kilometre-long flyover project connecting Saidapet to Teynampet on Anna Salai in Chennai is progressing steadily, with 68% of the work now completed. According to officials from the State Highways Department, slabs have been placed on girders spanning 1.1 kilometres, and 98% of the foundation work for the supporting pillars has been finalised. Out of 131 planned decks, 32 have already been installed, and eight more are expected to be placed by the end of May 2026. Most of the structural components, including the decks, are being pre-fabricated in Maharashtra, Goa, and Hyderabad before being transported to the site.
