On this day, he will become the longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister in India’s history. This will break the 60-year-old record held by Jawaharlal Nehru, who served as Prime Minister from 13 May 1952 to 27 May 1964, a total of 4,397 days. Modi’s current term began on 26 May 2014, and by 9 June 2024, he will have completed 4,390 days in office. On the same day, Nehru’s 4,397-day record will be surpassed, making Modi the longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister in India’s history.
