Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation ko alag karne ki yeh maang ab political support aur community backing ke saath tezi pakad rahi hai.
Congress MLA Prasad Abbayya, jo Hubballi-Dharwad East constituency se hain, unhone Monday ko agitation committee ke members se mulaqat ki aur apna support zataaya. Politics ke allegations par, Abbayya ne kaha ki Congress party ka is issue ko political gains ke liye istemaal karne ka koi intention nahi hai. Unhone emphasize kiya ki HDMC bifurcation proposal pehle hi state government dwara Governor ko submit kiya ja chuka hai, lekin unnecessarily political reasons ki wajah se delay ho raha hai. “State government ne jo proposal Governor ko bheja hai, woh unke paas hai. Humara belief hai ki ek alag municipal corporation Dharwad ke development mein help karegi, aur hum Governor se request karte hain ki woh proposal ko jaldi approve karein taaki Dharwad ke logon ki aspirations poori ho sakein,” unhone kaha. Abbayya ka intervention is agitation ki growing political significance ko zyada highlight karta hai, jo ab apne doosre week mein enter kar chuka hai.
