This alert signifies that residents must take extra precautions against the heat. According to the IMD, 51 areas in the city have been identified as hotspots where temperatures are expected to remain significantly higher.
IMD officials stated that an Orange Alert means people should take adequate measures to protect themselves from the heatwave. They also predicted that Ahmedabad’s temperature will likely exceed 40°C over the next three days.
