According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures across the plains will remain above 45°C for the next five to seven days, offering little respite from the blistering heat. While some Himalayan regions may receive slight relief due to a western disturbance, most parts of North India will continue to sizzle.
Nearly two-thirds of the country is currently under the grip of extreme heat and a punishing heatwave. Over the past three days, the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) has recorded temperatures consistently above 45°C, making it nearly impossible to venture outside during the afternoon. Authorities have urged people to take precautions against the extreme heat and heatwave conditions, warning of serious health risks.
