In response to rising global concerns over the spread of the Ebola virus in three African countries, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced a comprehensive set of precautionary measures. Announced on Sunday, May 24, the measures include enhanced disease surveillance at international airports, the establishment of isolation wards in government hospitals, and detailed plans for quarantine and emergency response. The announcement was made by Satya Kumar Yadav, Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, following a travel advisory issued by the Union government urging the public to avoid non-essential travel to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and South Sudan until further notice.
