On Monday, May 25, 2026, a clock tower illegally constructed on encroached land in Garia, South 24 Parganas, was demolished by government teams. The same day, a TMC party office in Konnagar, Hooghly district, was razed using a bulldozer. Official sources confirmed that the office had been illegally built on government land by local TMC councillor Khokon Pal. The Kolkata Municipal Corporation had earlier issued notices to several properties linked to TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, citing deviations from sanctioned plans.
