Dindigul, June 2, 2026 — The District Administration of Dindigul has urged livestock owners to utilise the newly launched mobile veterinary ambulance services to ensure prompt medical care for their animals. The initiative, operated under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, aims to extend essential veterinary services to remote and rural areas within the district.
According to a press release issued on June 2, 2026, the mobile veterinary ambulances are available for emergency calls through a toll-free number, 1962. These services are operational from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. However, emergency services can still be availed after 2 p.m. and until 5 p.m. upon receiving a distress call from anywhere in the district. The ambulances are strategically stationed across nine locations: Dindigul city, Natham, Reddiarchatram, Athoor, Pallanatham, Ayakudi, Thandikudi, Mannavanur, and Oddanchatram. Each day, one vehicle visits three villages to conduct camps and provide veterinary care at designated locations.
