Several districts in Karnataka have been experiencing intense heat and rising temperatures in recent days. However, today (June 28, 2024), strong winds and the movement of rain clouds have led to a significant drop in temperatures. According to the weather department, winds in the western and southern parts of the state are blowing at 30-40 km/h, helping to lower the mercury.
While Bengaluru city and its surrounding areas saw intense heat during the afternoon, the evening brought relief as winds picked up. Experts say the onset of monsoon winds has caused clouds to concentrate over Kerala and Karnataka’s coastal regions, increasing the likelihood of rain. People should prepare for possible showers and take precautions to stay safe.
At the same time, light rainfall has been recorded in some parts of the state. Clouds have covered Mangaluru, Udupi, Kasaragod, and Chikkamagaluru districts during the day, with chances of light drizzle in some areas. The weather department forecasts that over the next 48 hours, daytime temperatures in many parts of the state could drop by 3-4°C.
