An attempt to abduct the six-year-old son of a renowned heart specialist in Bhagalpur’s Sandis Compound was foiled by local residents. The accused was arrested by the police amid the commotion. According to police sources, the incident occurred around 10:30 AM on Wednesday when the accused tried to take the child away. Local residents intervened immediately, rescued the child, and handed the accused over to the police.
Information from the crime scene revealed that the accused, identified as Rahul Singh (35), resides in the same compound. He allegedly tried to lure and forcibly abduct the child. The child’s father, Dr. Arvind Kumar, a well-known cardiologist in Bhagalpur, was at home when the incident took place. He stated that his son had gone outside to play when the accused suddenly tried to grab him. Bhagalpur Police Station In-Charge Rajesh Kumar said that local residents collectively caught the accused and informed the police. The police arrived at the spot and arrested him without any resistance.
