Indian-origin mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Rishikesh Koloth, hailing from Kerala, died in a horrific bear attack in Saskatchewan, Canada. The 30-year-old had aspired to become a professional UFC fighter, but his dream remained unfulfilled. Born in Kerala, he had moved to Penticton, British Columbia, Canada, three years ago with his elder brother, Arjun Koloth.
Rishikesh was working at a uranium exploration site near Nordby Lake, where a black bear attacked him in early 2024. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. According to local media reports, another person shot the bear during the attack, killing it. However, Rishikesh had already suffered critical injuries. His brother, Arjun, revealed that Rishikesh was fearless and loved to fight. He shared that police officers arrived at their home early in the morning to inform them of Rishikesh’s death.
