A major racket involving sexual exploitation and forced religious conversion has been uncovered in an upscale residential area of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. According to local police sources, young women were lured into the crime through glamour and false promises. It has been alleged that two sisters were leading this racket. They were arrested by Bhopal Police on Saturday, sources said.
According to police, the accused sisters would take local young women to upscale residential areas in Bhopal under the pretext of connecting them with modelling agencies and the acting industry. There, they were subjected to sexual abuse and later pressured into religious conversion. The accused have been charged with human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and forced religious conversion. Police also said efforts are underway to identify and apprehend a few more people allegedly involved in the racket.
