The demonstrators blocked the highway at midnight, causing major traffic disruptions. Protesters sat on the road, raised slogans, and demanded immediate restoration of electricity supply from the administration.
Local resident Ramavilas said the power supply has been cut off for the past ten days, leaving homes without any source of light. He stated, "Our nights are spent in darkness. Children’s studies are suffering, and daily chores have become extremely difficult." The villagers accused the power department of negligence, leading to this situation. They mentioned that although police were present during the midnight protest, they managed to control the situation without further escalation.
During the demonstration, the villagers raised several key demands, including immediate restoration of power, repair of damaged transformers, and accountability of power department officials. Police officials confirmed that the protest remained peaceful despite causing significant traffic disruptions. They assured that the administration would intervene soon to resolve the issue.
