Failure to do so could lead to legal action and public discontent, warned City Mufti Maulana Batin Nomani. He has called for awareness and adherence to rules during the festival.
Maulana Nomani has highlighted common mistakes people make during Bakrid and advised ways to prevent them. He pointed out that dumping sacrificial meat in public places, littering streets, and filming the slaughter process to share on social media are wrong. Such actions are not only illegal but can also spark public outrage. Hence, he stressed that everyone must act responsibly during the festival.
Obtaining permission to slaughter animals during Bakrid is mandatory. A government-issued permit is required, and the slaughter site must be managed properly. After the sacrifice, the meat must be disposed of correctly. Littering at the site or dumping meat waste on the streets is illegal and harmful to the environment.
