A new train service connecting Karnataka and Maharashtra was inaugurated yesterday. Departing from Bengaluru City Junction, the train will arrive at Mumbai’s CST Terminal. This daily service is expected to provide significant relief to passengers and business travelers alike. The initiative, under the Indian Railways, is anticipated to substantially reduce travel time.
The new train service has been assigned the numbers 16210/16209. It will cover a distance of over 1,000 kilometers from Bengaluru City to Mumbai CST. Railway officials have indicated that the journey will take approximately 24 hours. Previously, covering this distance via existing routes would have taken around 30 hours. This translates to a reduction of six hours in travel time.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior government officials from Karnataka and Maharashtra, along with railway personnel. Mr. Kumar, Divisional Manager of the Karnataka Railway Division, stated, “This new service is expected to significantly aid the development and economic ties between the two states.” He also mentioned that the first train to arrive at the Mumbai CST Terminal will reach at 12:30 PM.
