Muzaffarpur, Bihar – A low-intensity explosion rocked the residence of the Vice-Chancellor of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU) in Muzaffarpur late on Wednesday night. The incident triggered a panic among residents of the area, but no casualties were reported. Police sources said a crude bomb was thrown at the VC’s official quarters around 11:30 pm. The explosion caused minor damage to the outer wall of the building but did not result in any injuries.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manish Kumar confirmed the incident and stated that a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He added that a detailed investigation has been initiated, and teams are scanning the area for evidence. “We are examining CCTV footage and questioning local residents to trace the perpetrators,” the SSP told the media. He assured the public that adequate security measures have been reinforced around the VC’s residence and other sensitive locations.
