Delhi Police opened fire at a carjacker on Monday afternoon, injuring him in the leg as he attempted to flee in a stolen vehicle through Baba Haridas Nagar. The incident unfolded around 2:30 pm, when police received information about a carjacking in progress. Upon arriving at the scene, officers spotted the suspect driving a recently stolen car at high speed.
The chase intensified as the accused tried to elude the police, leading to a tense pursuit through narrow lanes of Baba Haridas Nagar. At one point, the suspect reportedly rammed the stolen vehicle into a police barrier, damaging a patrol car. In response, police fired warning shots and then aimed at the car’s tires. One bullet struck the carjacker in the leg, bringing the chase to a halt. He was immediately arrested and rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
