The Government of India has announced the official dates and schedule for conducting the census across the country. According to sources from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, the nationwide census will begin from April next year. The entire process of conducting the census will consist of four phases, with the first phase—training and recruitment of staff—set to begin towards the end of this year.
It has been learned that the central government will recruit around 33 lakh employees for conducting the census. Additionally, preparations for digital devices and software to be used in the census have already been completed. The central government has stated that the census process will collect detailed data on the country’s population, education, economy, and social conditions. This data will play a crucial role in government planning and development projects.
According to the census schedule, the first phase will involve training staff, which will commence in October-November this year. The second phase will see the start of primary data collection in April next year. The third phase will involve verification and correction of data, while the fourth phase will see the release of final data. The entire process is expected to take nearly two years to complete.
