The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has defended its on-screen marking (OSM) system for evaluating Class 12 answer sheets, amidst concerns expressed by students and parents over the new method. The Union Education Ministry and CBSE officials, including Union Secretary of School Education Sanjay Kumar and CBSE Chairman Rahul Singh, addressed the media in New Delhi on May 17, 2026, to address the concerns.
