Bengaluru, May 24, 2026: Swara Lakshmi Nair, a 19-year-old chess prodigy from Karnataka, has made history by securing the prestigious Women’s International Master (WIM) title in chess. She is now the second woman from Karnataka to achieve this recognition, following Isha Sharma, who was the first. Importantly, Swara Lakshmi is also the first WIM from Bengaluru, adding a milestone for the city’s chess community.
