Tiruppur, June 1, 2026: The Tiruppur District Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] has strongly criticised the Tiruppur Corporation’s decision to appoint its officials as Ward Coordinators, labelling the initiative as “arbitrary and anti-democratic.” The civic body had announced that it would deploy health inspectors, assistant engineers, and other officials as coordinators in each of the 60 wards across the city. These officials will monitor solid waste management, drinking water supply, and street lighting through direct inspections conducted daily from 6.30 a.m. to 10 a.m., with the stated aim of improving basic civic amenities.
