A shocking incident has come to light in a village in western Maharashtra, where three sisters from the same family attempted suicide. Preliminary investigations indicate that the dispute between the girls and their father over mobile phone usage was the root cause of the tragedy. According to police records, the sisters are aged 16, 14, and 12. Their parents stated that the mobile phone given to the girls by their father was the primary trigger for the entire ordeal.
On the evening of 5 June 2024, the girls reportedly jumped into a well near their home in an attempt to take their own lives. They were rushed to hospital and are currently receiving medical treatment. In their complaint to the police, the parents alleged that the mobile phone provided by the father was the main reason behind the incident. They claimed that frequent arguments erupted between the girls and their father over mobile usage, which caused severe stress for the sisters. The parents told police they had repeatedly warned the girls about excessive mobile use, but their warnings went unheeded.
