The Health Department of the state government has released a comprehensive advisory urging people to take necessary precautions against the extreme heat. Citizens have been strongly advised to avoid venturing outdoors during peak afternoon hours and to increase their water intake significantly. Additionally, the government has issued guidelines to prevent heat exhaustion and heatstroke, which are common during such extreme weather conditions.
The advisory was issued on the 10th of this month by the government led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, as confirmed by Health Minister Ma. Subramanian. The minister stated, “Given the rising intensity of the heatwave, it is crucial for people to recognize early signs of heat-related illnesses. Necessary arrangements have been made in government hospitals and health centers to address any health emergencies.”
