The Central Territory Administration has announced another hike in CNG prices in Delhi amid rising fuel costs for petrol and diesel. Following a price revision on July 15, 2024, the cost of CNG has increased by ₹2 per kg, bringing the new price to ₹80.50 per kg. This is the fourth price increase in Delhi within two weeks since the revision on July 1.
The price adjustment has been implemented by the Union Commission (UC) as per the directives of state-owned fuel retailers—Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum. Fuel price fluctuations, including those for petrol, diesel, and CNG, are typically aligned with changes in international market rates.
However, the latest hike has drawn strong reactions from consumers, with widespread public protests and criticism on social media. Many users have expressed concerns that rising fuel prices will significantly impact their daily expenses.
Under the UC’s price revision, CNG in Delhi now costs ₹80.50 per kg. The increase has raised concerns about a further rise in the cost of living. This price adjustment is expected to fuel further public debate on fuel price fluctuations.
