Bengaluru, May 27: A constable died and another was critically injured when their vehicle met with an accident while returning from duty in Bengaluru’s Yelahanka area around 9:30 pm on Wednesday. According to preliminary reports, the two constables were on their way back in a police vehicle after completing their duty when the accident occurred.
Local residents immediately alerted the police and an ambulance. Emergency services rushed to the spot, rushed the constable to a hospital, and admitted the injured colleague for treatment. However, despite treatment, the constable succumbed to injuries, police sources confirmed. The injured colleague was in a critical condition but is now stable, medical sources said.
Police investigating the accident suspect a loss of control over the bike as the cause. The police team collected evidence from the spot and is trying to determine the exact cause of the accident. Footage from closed-circuit cameras around the area is also being reviewed. The police department’s spokesperson said the investigation will continue until the exact cause is established.
